History of Our Ministry

We are known as a Higher Heights Ministry Center of Love. Our vision is to Empower and Enlighten people to go higher and reach their goals. Higher Heights Ministry Center was birthed through fasting and prayer on January 1, 2003, in Danville, VA, under the leadership of Bishop Motley G. Davis as the Pastor and Bishop Timothy R. Beard as the Co-Pastor. The 1st service was held at the office of Davis Music Ministry, with over 35 people in attendance. In the 3rd service, the Lord used Bishop Davis, through prophecy, to open the door and tell the saints to point their hands across the street to a much larger building that God would bless Higher Heights with. 

We marched into a 10,000-square-foot facility within two months, praising God. He had enlarged our territory. The word of God was preached, and souls were added to the church. God moved mightily in our services and continues to do so today. In 2005, Bishop Timothy R. Beard was installed as Pastor, taking the church to another level. 

Many ministries, such as Women, Men, Youth, Outreach, and Seniors, were birthed. Since being at this location, God has blessed Higher Heights to renovate the building, and it has become a shining light to a dark neighborhood full of drugs and crime. God has commissioned the church to go out into the community and provide a place of worship for all ages. In doing so, Higher Heights Ministry Center has been instrumental in implementing yearly Vacation Bible School, a Church-Based Tutorial program for elementary-aged children, a Summer Feed program, Community Fun Day, and many other programs. 

In 2019, Elder Darry B Davis Jr. was installed as the Assistant Pastor who assists in leading the church into a growing relationship with Jesus! Higher Heights continues to build the ministry by having weekly Bible Study and Live Sunday Morning Services.
